| << Back to Limited Editions Graphic technician Marcel Salome (1967) started his career in 1985 as a reproduction technology trainee at Van Boekhoven-Bosch in Utrecht, The Netherlands. The vast knowledge of reproduction photography, lithography, art printing and colour management that he has gained since those early days allows him to achieve results that leave his competitors in the dust, and that advantage is still holding strong. As early as 1996, permission was granted to make art prints using the Scitex Iris printer and the Digital Cromalin printer. He is constantly looking for the latest techniques and materials, relying on his solid traditional background to combine them perfectly with current digital technologies. It's not hard to see why artists from all over the world come to Marcel Salome to achieve this excellent standard of quality. Certified Art Giclée™ The Certified Art Giclée technique is currently the best approach imaginable for the limited edition prints of Sparnaay's paintings. The Certified Art Giclée™ hallmark of quality is the definitive European standard for original limited-edition Giclée art prints. The Certified Art Giclée™ introduces a distinction between original, high-quality, valuable Giclée reproductions at museum quality and the inkjet prints that frequently offer disappointingly poor quality. The Certified Art Giclée™ logo gives consumers, artists, galleries and museums a guarantee of the very best quality and a long lifetime for the certified Giclée prints, which are always accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The Certified Art Giclée is always reproduced in waterproof inks using archival pigments and printed on acid-free materials. Invisible to the naked eye, the coating added to the materials causes a chemical reaction between the ink and the material. With a minimum resolution of 1440 dpi, the prints are raster-free and achieve an unparalleled level of detail. A Certified Art Giclée™ can stay good for between 80 and 300 years, and possibly even longer*. The lifetime of the reproduction naturally depends on the choice of material and on how the artwork is displayed. The test conditions used by the Wilhelm Imaging Research Institute to achieve these results were: 25° Celsius, 60% humidity and a light exposure of 450 lux, assuming exposure for 12 hours a day. These conditions are comparable to the lighting used in offices, living rooms, galleries and museums. Certificates bearing the Certified Art Giclée™ hallmark of quality and the GPE logo The Certified Art Giclée™ comes with a certificate of authenticity that provides all the relevant details. The certificate bears a small reproduction of the artwork and lists the artist's name, the title of the artwork, website, number of reproductions, number of Épreuve d'Artiste (extra reproductions commissioned by the artist, generally for his/her private collection), and the master print. The certificates include an embossed seal with the hallmark, number and signature of the artist and the master printer.
